The PedalCell team is proud to announce that we have officially partnered with the Northwestern Sustainability Fund (NSF) and SustainNU to promote environmentally friendly mobility by leveraging PedalCell technology. NSF is sponsoring the installation of stationary PedalCell bike-powered phone charger rigs throughout Northwestern's campus. The platforms provide a fun, healthy, and sustainable method for nearby students and faculty to charge-up their smartphones through their pedal power. The stationary bicycles are supporting the PedalCell's development in the ongoing "Project Trailblazer" product stress-testing program (read more here).
The initiative supports Northwestern's 2021 Strategic Sustainability Plan to "Increase bike commuting by 10 percent (from 2016 baseline) and Achieve Bicycle Friendly University Platinum status through the League of American Bicyclists" by exposing the campus community to the benefits as well as innovations associated with cycling.
Stay tuned for future updates!
